We are here when you are making final decisions for your pet.
End-of-Life Care for Pets with Declining Health
As pets age or develop chronic conditions, evaluating their quality of life becomes a large part of making compassionate decisions. Our veterinarians offer quality-of-life exams to assess your pet’s comfort. During these exams, we discuss factors such as mobility, pain levels, appetite, and overall happiness. If necessary, we can provide palliative care options to manage pain and maintain comfort for as long as possible.
Palliative care, also known as hospice care, may include pain medications, mobility support, and adjustments to daily routines to improve your pet’s quality of life. We will work with you to determine when medical intervention is no longer sufficient and when euthanasia may be the most humane option for your furry companion.

Euthanasia is a peaceful and gentle process.
When the time comes to say goodbye, our veterinary team strives to make the process as gentle and stress-free as possible. Our in-clinic euthanasia services are offered in a private, quiet space where you can be with your pet during their final moments. The procedure is performed with care and compassion for a peaceful passing. You may take all the time you need with your pet before leaving our veterinary clinic.
We also offer cremation services with two options. For communal cremation, your pet will be given a joint cremation with others, and their ashes will not be returned to you. For a private cremation, your pet will be cremated individually, and their ashes will be returned to you to keep however you choose. Our team will guide you through the options for whatever best suits the wishes of you and your family.
At-Home Euthanasia for Established Patients
For pet owners who prefer a familiar and peaceful setting, easyvet Iowa Colony offers at-home euthanasia services for established patients within 25 miles of our veterinary clinic. This option allows pets to pass in the comfort of their home, surrounded by loved ones.
Because at-home euthanasia requires scheduling in advance, we recommend planning as soon as you feel your pet’s condition is declining. Our team will coordinate with you to provide a calm and supportive experience.
